MEET THE TEAM
Donna has a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice, with a Minor in Social Work and 18 years housing counseling experience at Family Housing Advisory Services. Donna’s major duties include formulating the annual Homeowner services plan and budget, establishing program goals and ensuring sound fiscal practices, developing adequate funding sources, providing Foreclosure Prevention counseling and follow-up, Updating HCO system, Submitting quarterly HUD reports, Conducting Train-the-Trainer, and Supervising staff. Post-Purchase/Mortgage Default and Foreclosure Prevention, Loss Mitigation Counseling including how to restructure debt, establish reinstatement plans, seek loan forbearance, and manage household finances.
Julia is a trained Mediator, and serves on the EITC Coalition Council, REACH Education and REACH Financial Council, La Casa de Pueblo Secretary, Nebraska Educational Counsel, Heartland Blueprint board training. National “Train the Trainer” program certification. Internal Revenue Services Tax Preparation Certification, completion of 52-hour course. She has over 25 years experience in financial counseling, banking & mortgage lending, banking, consumer loan education, bankruptcies, forced-placed insurance, collections (Consumer Credit Counseling, 1995-2002); 9 years experience in financial counseling including budgeting, administering Individual Development Accounts (IDA) Programs, foreclosures, pre-purchase, post-purchase, financial education, HECM & Predatory Lending. Position held at FHAS (July 2002 – present). Julia also has 18 years related professional experience in banking, consumer lending, mortgage lending, bankruptcies, forced-placed insurance, collections.
Shelisha Williams is a Counselor/Financial Coach on our team. She is currently pursuing an Associate Degree in Human Services. Having been a foster parent herself for many years, she has worked with caseworkers, therapists, and teachers to meet the needs of foster children, and she understands the challenges and needs of the youth she serves. She also has over 15 years of customer service experience, working with people from diverse backgrounds, and in a variety of situations. As a Counselor/Financial Coach, she works with each client to assess their current situation and the underlying problems, in order to develop a case plan that can help the client achieve their financial goals.
Sherraline Lewis is the Data Coordinator on the team, and is responsible for the databases and reporting needs of the programs. She also maintains the Opportunity Passport webpage and FaceBook account. In her former career as a Business Analyst, she was responsible for requirements gathering, data analysis, functional design, functional testing, implementation and rollout solutions around business computer applications to help companies keep pace with changing business conditions. Outside of work, she enjoys music and reading.
