FINANCIAL EDUCATION
Financial "literacy" and connecting with financial resources are frequently underlying issues among so many low-to-moderate income individuals and families who are struggling to find and keep housing. This program empowers participants to take the steps to prepare for a solid financial future. Our services include Monthly Financial Fitness workshops in both English and Spanish, Individual budget counseling, Clear understanding of your financial goals, Information on wise saving, spending, and credit use.
. Family Housing Advisory Services, Inc. (FHAS) provides Housing and Urban Development (HUD) financial education and one-on-one budget counseling to assist individuals and families in getting their financial house in order. Counselors are certified by the national organization: LA RAZA and Internal Revenue Services to assist with tax preparation. The Financial Education course is designed to teach the fundamentals of personal finance. This course will provide you with the right tools and support so you can take control or regain control of your financial future. After completing the class, you can meet with a counselor one-on-one to devise an action plan that will help you reach your goal. Come and learn how your tax refund can put you on the road to improving your credit rating. (The cost of the workbook is $15.00) |
